Polyurethane/metal composite systems are frequently used for wall and roof panels in the construction industry. For such applications, the systems require approval from the building authorities, and because the testing procedures are costly and time-consuming, they are only carried out for marketable systems. To assist product development, a testing unit has therefore been built to measure the relevant strength properties, including shear stress, compressive stress in the load application area, wrinkling stress in the facing, and breaking stress.
